What do Ophthalmologists do?
Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who can diagnose and treat all types of vision and eye issues.
Training and education to become a licensed ophthalmologist can take 12-13 years. If they subspecialize in a specific area, they complete another 2-3 years in an in-depth training program called a fellowship.
Many ophthalmologists also take part in scientific research. They study the causes and cures for eye-related troubles.
As our CDPAP patients frequently need to use an ophthalmologist, we have put together this guide on the 10 best ophthalmologists in NY who accept Medicaid
